This is a review in trip advisor from a Hoton House Guest!

When the door to our room (Hannah's Suite) was opened for us, I could not believe my eyes! Everything was exactly as depicted on the website ~ Beautiful bed with a pillow-top mattress, private and spacious bath and delicious chocolate brownies! We arrived late at night, but were greeted graciously by Shaun who even gave us a tour of the house despite the late hour. We were in town for a surprise 80th birthday party and, at the last minute (two days prior), asked if perhaps they could accommodate 12 others for breakfast and were told that was fine. The breakfast was beyond reproach. First a plate of fruit with juice, coffee and tea, followed by a wonderful egg/hashbrown casserole with toast and jelly. The food was delightful, the presentation beautiful, and the service excellent. That night when we returned from our full day, there were mints on the pillows, and chocolate cake on the mantel above the fireplace! We learned quickly to save room for those evening delights! Breakfast the next day was the best french toast that I have ever had, along with bacon and fruit. Again, served with a pitcher of juice, coffee and tea. Mike is a chef and very hard to please when we travel, but he was delighted with everything. We slept like we were in our own bed at home, not awakening once through the night. We have many family members in Kansas, and undoubtedly will be back in the near future. We would stay nowhere else! Thank you Tara and Shaun for your gracious hospitality! My girlfriend and I spent the night at the Holton House and I was
overwhelmed by the hospitality of the owners.  The room was like something I
have only dreamed of, extremely comfortable and spacious.  The owners served
us breakfast in a manner as if we were of the "Rich and Famous" class.  I
have stayed at some pretty fancy places in my life all over the world and
from the moment we stepped into the Holton House, it didn't seem like we
were in a small town, but in a big city's fanciest hotel with servants to
accommodate your every needs.

 

My hat is off to the owners and of course Holton.  I lived in Holton some 35
years ago and remember the mansion well, and it is ironic that I stayed in a
place that I would have never thought of.
